Part 1: 20 Days of Kindness (Dec. 17 - Jan. 6)
Part 2: The Noble Sacrifice Literature Reflections - Read each of the short stories, and complete your responses in the section in your OneNote.

Part 3: Post - Respond by writing at least one paragraph.
Part 4: Create a poem that includes at least 10 acts of kindness.
- Complete 20 acts of kindness over the next 20 days.
- Record the acts in OneNote.
- Upon returning from the holiday break, we will pull from your entries as inspiration for our next piece of writing.

- Reflect on three of the images.on the webpage.
B. "Gift of the Magi"
- Theme/Concept - What is the theme in the story?
- Literary Analysis - How is this theme used to show irony in the story?
C. "The Sacrifice" - This is a very touching piece that sparks a mix of emotions.
- Connection - What is your reaction to the piece?
- Reflection - What is the greatest sacrifice that one can make?
D. "The Little Match Girl"
- Complete the questions in the breakout activity
E. "The Nightingale and the Rose"
- Inference - What evidence do we have that the nightingale will not survive? (Hint: Find examples of foreshadowing.)
- Cause & Effect - What causes the young man to be rejected? What does this reveal about the young woman’s character?
- Understanding Emotion - How does Wilde help us see two versions of love in the story? What are those versions, seen from the perspective of the nightingale and the young woman?
Part 3: Post - Respond by writing at least one paragraph.
- Emotional Connection - What gift have you given or received that had a special meaning beyond the value of the item?
